We are hiring a Project Manager who has a demonstrated record successfully managing multi-discipline capital projects to join our Houston team. This Project Manager will take point in planning, implementing, and tracking a portfolio of complex engineering projects across various clients and sites.
To be successful in this role, the Project Manager will need to excel at organizing, interacting, communicating and collaborating directly with clients, suppliers and subcontractors in diverse industries to define scope, establish budget, and develop realistic schedules to meet the project requirements. The Project Manager will have experience in estimating the total installed cost (TIC) of a capital project based on the conceptual design and managing the design toward that TIC target. The Project Manager will be accountable for reviewing and negotiating contracts, proactively managing risk and change to achieve profitability.
The Project Manager must be skillful in developing and leading diverse non-co-located teams. The Project Manager will coordinate the technical work of multidiscipline project teams and hold team members accountable for quality, safety, productivity, schedule and budget targets in partnership with Group Managers. The Project Manager will anticipate potential problems, resolve issues and escalate as appropriate. The Project Manager will be accountable for meeting the overall project requirements successfully.
The Project Manager will be expected to develop trusted and respected relationships with clients, staff, suppliers, subcontractors and industry partners. The Project Manager will work closely with company management to identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities throughout the country. The Project Manager will secure new projects: develop win strategies, assemble a team of internal and third party resources to execute proposal plans, and deliver successful proposals to clients.
Performance in this position will be measured against success of assigned projects (delivered on time, on budget with high client & team satisfaction), growth and development of client relationships as evidenced by additional project work awarded, annual revenue goals within established accounts, and accurate, timely reporting of project management metrics to business leaders.
As this Project Manager will be working with some of the best technical minds in the business, our search will focus on applicants who possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with a record of being given increasing responsibility in Project Management
- Experience leading multi-discipline engineering projects that meet performance targets
- Training and a solid understanding of techniques within the project management process groups: Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor & Control, and Close
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (or ability to achieve within 12 months of hire)
- Proficiency in Project Management software (MS Project and/or Primavera P6) as well as the MS Office suite
This position should expect 25% travel and will require a valid Driver's License.
