aeSolutions is hiring a Combustion Engineer for our Fired Equipment Engineering Team, based in our Houston office. This role would provide oversight and support of Fired Equipment Projects. Responsibilities will include the design development of reformers, furnaces, boilers, incinerators, combustors, flares, and emission controls, as well as interfacing with designers, project management, and clients for successful execution of combustion and fired equipment projects. Other duties will include the design of nozzles, mixers, and pilots (experience designing flare tips a plus), and computation of radiated and convected heat transfer.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience), a minimum of 10 years of experience with the design and control of combustors, flares, and thermal oxidizers, knowledge of combustible mixtures, heat transfer, nozzle burner tip design, and compressible fluid dynamics, and experience with combustion chemistry. Experience with API designs required; experience with CFD a plus.
P.E. is preferred. This position would include 50% travel.
